Learning From Design Mistakes

 

My January feature for the Kitsap Sun is a chronicle of some of my design mistakes, both small and big, in the hopes that I might help you make better decorating choices in 2018. The upside to taking these missteps is that I’m honing my personal, practical and authentic decorating aesthetic. I’m learning the difference between the reality of messy, daily life and my decorating dreams. Here are a couple highlights: don’t pick school bus yellow-orange paint for your dining room and don’t bring a white rug into a busy family room!

This white rug looks great, from a distance!!! Don’t buy a solid white rug for high traffic areas!
