Dining Room Rug Search

I’m on the prowl for a hard-wearing and stylish rug for the dining room. After several cat-related incidents, we had to repurpose the tufted wool rug that once graced this space. The rug is now in the basement, under my husband’s drum kit, and the offending area was cut off. I’m glad we could salvage it, but now the dining room floor looks really sad and bare, especially since I just completed staining the table! Here is a sneak peek of the table:

Keeping a laid-back, bohemian vibe and a $100-$150 budget in mind, I’ve been trolling my favorite sites, in search of the perfect rug. Here are my favorites.

I love the texture and simplicity of this solid, recycled jean and jute woven rug. Earth First Jean Rug, Wayfair.com.

This might be my favorite. It's a printed cotton rug and I love the color and pattern, but I'm concerned it won't wear well. Flourish Rug by Urban Outiffters.

I like each of them for different reasons, but practicality is going to be the major deciding factor. I have a four-year old and a five month old, who just started eating solids… my dining room works very hard and I need something that can handle the mess. Once I decide on the rug, I can move on to choosing fabrics for the dining bench project!
