This year, my Christmas tree is a three and a half-foot table top tree. It was really our only option, considering Thomas is now a fully mobile, and very curious, toddler. I wanted to keep things simple, so I just used the silver and gold ornaments from years passed, with white lights. As much as I prefer the patina of old age on furniture, I also love shiny, glittery things. To bring my sparkly tree back down to earth, I grounded it with a simple swath of burlap wrapped around the tree base. The result is fresh and magical, and elegant, but not fancy.
